Kentucky House Passes Bill to Allow Off-Duty and Retired Officers to Carry Concealed

I didn’t ever realize it but currently in Kentucky the law prohibits an officer who isn’t on-duty from carrying their concealed firearm the same places they could carry it if they were on duty.
Rep. Steve Riggs (D-Louisville) filed HB 314 after hearing about a situation where officers were unable to legally carry their firearms concealed into a specific venue.
There are many people who have had their lives spared because an off-duty police officer or retired police officer was able to deescalate or neutralize a threat,” said Rep. Robert Benvenuti (R-Lexington) who voted in support of the bill.
With some luck the bill will pass through the full legislature and will be signed into law by the Governor so that those who have received the best firearm training and feel a noble desire to serve others will be legally empowered to carry concealed guns where needed.
Do not like going places that ban ccdw in their business. I think they are asking for trouble with these signs.
Hope the governor signs it quickly.
Does this proposed bill cover retired Probation and Parole investigators?
Not so far as I can tell
