House Bill 221 if passed would allow those with valid CCDW permits to carry on school campuses, from elementary schools to college campuses. If passed Kentucky would join eight other states that have laws that clearly allow for concealed carry on college campuses. More than 20 other states have laws that allow schools to choose their own policy.
Yesterday, February 17th, 2016, advocacy group “Students for Concealed Carry” held a rally at the capital to voice support for the bill.
“Gun-free zones have ramifications in making anyone there a potential victim and an easy target,” said student spokesman Chernyavskiy.
Members of “Moms Demand Action” were also gathered to rally against the bill they feel will somehow put their children in danger.
If you feel, as we do, that trained and legally armed concealed carry holders in Kentucky should be able to protect themselves and others when at school please contact your representatives and express support for House Bill 221.
